There's No Great Green Hand in Space
Star Trek Beyond was great, and I just loved Jaylah. It still labors under the burden of being part homage. It still follows the blockbuster formula of gratuitous, obscenely powerful yet surprisingly un-devastating urban destruction. And impossible physics. Despite that, it was great. No spoilers.
I just wish Pine had more Shatner gravitas, mischief and humor, that Quinto was less whiny perfect and dropped more icy wit. Urban walks on the edge of being a caricature.
Ignre the plot holes. Enjoy the ride. Go see it.
